Our Compassionate God

Passage: Jonah 1:1-3

Bible Text: Jonah 1:1-3 | Preacher: Pastor Neal Alexander | Series: Our Compassionate God | Jonah – Nate Bressler

I’ll run just as fast as I can

But that’s not much of a plan

When it all goes wrong.

Panic went straight to my legs

I’ll sprint just to stay ahead

But now I’m at the end of my life.

I’ve decided that I’m gonna sleep,

         till I’m no longer Jonah.

This gale is all my fault

Escape and let me be lost

Among the seas great waves.

Down to the depths I plunge

Death come, fill my lungs!

And release me from my life.

I’ve decided that I’m gonna sleep,

    Till I’m no longer Jonah.

    Or will I resurrect?

There’s evidence of life from death

With promise to be reborn Jonah.

Was this by design?   Retreat to recognize

You wait so patiently.

From nowhere my prayer to you,

To anywhere I escape to

You’re faithful I will resurrect!

There’s evidence of life from death

With promise to be reborn Jonah.

          Oh, I will resurrect!

There’s evidence of life from death

With promise to be reborn Jonah.
